I love these Dog Park mysteries. The characters are believable and one can relate to them. The story line always has some twists that leave you always surprised by "who done it." This is not a dark, heavy, violent mystery. This is a wonderful light hearted read, a real page turner, The kauthor also manages to educate as well. I could not put it down once I started it. I was hooked on the first page. Fast moving and unpredictable, another great read in this series from C. A. Newsome. Who would think there would be all this drama from people taking their dogs to the local dog park. Love Lia an Pete and their circle of friends, not to mention their dogs. This fourth book in the dog park series is just as great as the first one. Time well spent, another great read from this excellent author.

I absolutely LOVE C A Newsome's Dog Park books. I was hooked from the very first one and eagerly look forward to each new publication. Her writing is solid, fun to read, more than enough twists to keep your interest. The characters are intensely human and believable. And anyone who lives with a dog and visits a dog park can instantly connect with and has experienced most of the behaviors, both four and two footed. I highly recommend these books for a good and enjoyable read.
I enjoyed the progression in the story line with the previous books. Very happy to see that the author found a good editor this time as earlier books were interesting but frustrating with so many errors. This book was easy to read and very enjoyable. The characters are well rounded and the story flows effortlessly. The "who done it" kept me in suspense till the end of the story.
Looking forward to the next story.
I have read every one of this series, and reading them again. I'm always waiting and hoping for the next book to come soon! I've also been following Carol and getting her emails. She is fun, a wealth of dog tips, recipes, etc. She does contests for her readers, of which I've won a couple signed items. Yay!! All in all, a great experience along with wonderfully written mysteries and who can resist dogs? Thanks Carol! Looking forward to more..
I am a fan of this series and have read all four books. After finishing Sneak Thief, I was left with mostly positive albeit mixed feelings. The strength of this book was in the plot, especially the well-constructed mystery. I also thought the pacing was done well, with momentum building for maximum effect. My only complaints about the book are the following the author dropped the device of using the Watcher's POV too quickly; and most significantly the main character (Lia) did not behave in ways that seemed consistent with prior books, and seemed more immature and unlikable than I recalled. Finally, with long intervals between published books, it would be nice if this author helped readers to remember the continuing cast of humans and pets with a few more descriptions of who's who and how they figure into Lia's life (this would also help readers entering the series via later books).
Compared to other Cozy Mysteries this is at least 10 points above. The plot twists and turns like a mystery should. The characters are getting to be my friends they are so realistically written. This lady is a great author. I intend to read the whole series. Thanks for sharing,'s Ms Newsome.
Ok full disclosure. I am the victim in this book or at least a fictional creation of me was killed off. I was quite nervous when Carol asked if she could use me as her victim, but thought why not let Carol make my life really fun. I asked if she was going to use me, she have lots of fun and make me the town troll up. I was terrified when the book was delivered for my review and relieved when it was so good. I loved this book! It was suspenseful and funny full of twist and turns as well as outlandish humor. I laughed til I cried many times because of her hilarious portrayal of both me and my beagle Julia. By the way, she captured Ms. Julia the Diva perfectly!! Her portrayal of me is purely fiction I assure you! This was the most fun I've had having my character completely besmirched and then being killed off! If I could, I'd let her kill me again.
